Environmental Footprint

We are making an effort to use as little energy as possible to operate this resort without interfering with the enjoyment of your visit. For example:

All lighting has energy efficient bulbs including highway signage. Our large swimming pool is heated to 80°F by using the heat from the air. Normally after cleaning it takes 10 hours to reheat outdoor hot tubs but we found a way to reduce this to 2 hours. We use front loaders for our in-house laundry and weather permitting, dry the laundry outside -- "fresh air smell". Energy efficient showers use less electricity. We have numerous trees on site which provide shade and shelter as well as absorbing CO₂.

PEI recycles and composts 65% of all waste material which we believe is the highest in Canada. We would appreciate any of your suggestions as to further decreasing our environmental footprint.
